Very disappointed August 30, 2010 RavenRing (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First off, let me say that I actually was initially very please with this watch. I had been looking for a nice looking digital watch with a metal band that wasn't twice the size of my hand. This watch was a little bigger than I would have liked, but smaller than I had expected. It looked very nice, and had all of the functions that I wanted - timezones, a timer and alarm, water-resistant, and a light. When I first started wearing this watch, I had no complaints.
But after three months of light wear (I didn't participate in any rough sports and didn't even go swimming), the pin holding the watch to the band broke. I was none to happy about this, but it was still well within warranty, so I filled out a repair request trough Casio and sent in my watch. Their original estimate was $15-150 - I paid $65 for the watch and even the retail was less than $100. I wasn't happy about this estimate, but I assumed that it wouldn't matter, since the warranty would take care of it. Imagine my displeasure when I found out that not only would they not repair it under warranty, but they wanted $40 to repair it. I asked why it wasn't under warranty and was told that the band breaking was considered "normal wear and tare" and not covered by the warranty. I asked if that meant that it was only supposed to last three months and the lady had the nerve to say "yes".
This is a nice little watch, but if I am expected to have to replace it every three months, then it is not at all worth it. I am very disappointed with Casio and even wrote in a letter of complaint. As expected, I didn't receive any sort of reply, not even a form letter. Considering that Casio is a Japanese company, I had thought that they would provide better customer service, but I guess I was wrong.
Just be warned that if you have any troubles, Casio will do nothing to help you.
Finally, a women's stainless steel watch that's also digital July 18, 2010 TL I have been looking for a women's stainless steel watch that's also digital, and a variety is not easy to find as to date. Other Baby-G watches have resin bands that wear easily, so I thought a stainless steel wristband would be more durable and last. Adjusting the band size required a small hammer and push pin. Just tap gently and repeatedly along the arrows to remove the links and pins. The functions of the watch are easy to use, with help of the manual. So far, I am very satisfied with the watch's functional features and durability, and not to mention, all this with great style. It looks great with casual to more dressy outfits. Overall, a watch to recommend.
Baby G review June 12, 2010 H. Altman (WV USA) I've been very happy with the watch so far, had it several weeks. It's a little complicated to set the alarm, which is the main function I wanted. I read that some people had water resistance issues with it, but I wear mine constantly for all types of chores including washing dishes and the car and have had no leakage problems. The display is a little dark, but usually not a problem. I like the look of it as far as styling. I wear it out in the evenings and I think it's dressy enough. It is much lighter in weight than I expected. Overall, happy.
Love it May 10, 2010 talon was concerned about the pink face at first, but it is real demure, so not an issue. Buttons were cumbersone at first, but once you get used to them, they are ok. Love this watch....always was a fan of timex but wanted something a little dressier for work; this is fantastic. All the functions I need with a better, dressier style. I love it!
NICE watch, suits my purposes VERY nicely March 19, 2010 E. Jensen (fairbanks, ak) I received this watch as a Valentine's Day gift. My husband had been searching for a ladies' metal-banded sports watch (after I had given up) and found this ONE. I like it. It has the features I wasn't willing to let go (timer, alarm, chrono, date, digital) and still managed to look classy. It isn't too large, as I was afeared after reading other reviews. I think I have a fairly average wrist and it's great.
Some (insignificant, considering I would still purchase) drawbacks: links are a beast to remove, it's nice to have a husband handy for them. He ended up using a pushpin, paperclip and a tiny hammer to get the pins out. The watch "menu" functions are not as intuitive as I would like, but this may be because I'm transferring over from being a 18 year Timex-er, and after all, it does come with a manual ;)
